For our thriller, we decided to have out capturer disguised with a black mask which covers most of her face making it more scarier because it adds to the mystery of who the intruder is. We decided to have the colour of the mask black because we had our actor dressed all in black so for this dark figure to appear it would make the scene scarier because it almost takes away all the features that we use to identify someone, but with still showing the key features. This mask also allowed for our characters eyes to be shown and especially when using a close up shot, the eyes were a lot more intense because everything else was covered.
Villains costume
The costume we used for our villain was an all black outfit, black jeans with a black hooded jacket. We wanted our actor to wear a hooded jacket so that their hair could be covered which would mean for their identity to be even more unknown which adds to the mystery.
Victims costume
For our female victim we decided to dress her in very casual and stereotypical clothing with a grey crop top and blue jeans. This costume is very casual everyday wear which can add to the storyline that this kidnapping was very unexpected and on a normal day. This costume was also very efficient and accessible as Isobel already had this outfit at home which meant that money didn't need to be spent on an appropriate costume.
Phone and laptop
The other props that we used were a mobile phone and a laptop, we decided to use these because they allowed us to show the audience the messages from our main characters boyfriend which was a key part of the storyline because it was informing the audience that the man coming into the house was not someone she knew. The phone was also very important because our victim is on the phone throughout the opening and is possibly the reason why she gets kidnapped because she talks to the friend on the phone which the villain hears. This means that these two props were very important throughout the storyline which is why we decided to have them in it.
