One of the reasons why I chose to take Media Studies is because I have an interest in the world of media and how it effects society. I feel as by learning about the industry i will be able to see how media influences our everyday thoughts, actions and beliefs through what we choose to read, watch or listen to. It will also allow me to understand the ways in which different issues are handled and how they are portrayed, and whether they are shown positively or negatively depending on the audience or topic.
Another reason i have chosen Media is because it will enable me to create my own videos which means I will be able to experience the creation of media first hand instead of just watching what someone else has made.
